Alpaca Walking

GOOD NEWS WE ARE BACK!

Due to COVID 19 and the new social distancing restrictions we have had to make a few changes to our alpaca walks. Please read the below very carefully.

We will be running walks twice a day, 7 days a week, until the end of July. Starting at 10.30am & 2.00pm and lasting around 60 minutes.
These will be run with one booking per walk, with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 5 people. Due to this, you will need to walk an alpaca each (no sharing)
Due to the limited number we are allowed to walk at one time, we have had to increase our prices to £30 per person.
Please see below for how to book.

If you need help or more information, please call Bea on 07733 101137 or email hello@hammonds-farm.co.uk.

BOOKING

If you already have a booking/voucher/cancelled booking from during lockdown, then we will honour the prices and party set up as long as it is less than 5 people.

To book - please email Bea on hello@hammonds-farm.co.uk, with the number of alpacas you would like to walk, the date and the time. It would be sensible to have a couple of options for dates due to the limited number of walks, especially for Saturdays.
You will then be sent an invoice, payable online, bookings will only be confirmed once payment has been received.

Bookings will be taken on a first come first served basis.
If you would like to book for after July, then please drop us an email and we can give you further information

Cotswold Alpaca Walking Experience

Our Alpaca Walking Experiences at Hammonds Farm, Stroud,  will run from June through to  the end of October.

Alpacas are South American camels and are fascinating animals.  They are similar to, and often confused with the llama. However, alpacas are often noticeably smaller than llamas. With a gorgeous soft fluffy fleece. They have a very kind nature and are deeply intrigued by everything that we humans may be doing and keep surprising us by what they get up to.  Their babies  (known as “cria”) are spectacular.

Alpaca Walking - What to Expect

We will be running walks twice a day, 7 days a week, until the end of July. Starting at 10.30am & 2.00pm and lasting around 60 minutes.
These will be run with one booking per walk, with a minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 5 people. Due to this, you will need to walk an alpaca each (no sharing)
Due to the limited number we are allowed to walk at one time, we have had to increase our prices to £30 per person.
Please see below for how to book.

Before the walk starts, you will be able to choose your alpaca and start getting acquainted with each other.  We will explain the many ways in which alpacas differ from other animals and show you some techniques for making your alpaca walk go smoothly.

We will then take you for a 30 – 45 minute walk with one of the home team in the lead. Alpacas do not walk very quickly,  and there will be several pauses for lots of selfies,  questions and chat. All the walking will be across fields or on grass paths within the boundaries of the farm.

Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and, in particular, sturdy footwear or gumboots.
